Rising post-punk act Twin Tribes announce 2021 “Ceremony” Tour
Hailing from Texas, this emerging force in the darkwave scene turned heads in 2018 with the release of their sold-out debut album Shadows. They returned in 2019 with the ten-track album Ceremony which showcased their progression as a band. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the band to cancel all tour plans, they return in 2021 with the announcement of their US and European tours named after the sophomore release. After gaining some serious credibility on the US live circuit playing alongside such acts as She Past Away, Clan of Xymox, ACTORS, Ash Code, and Kaelan Mikla, Twin Tribes has announced a headlining tour in the United States, as well as several dates spread throughout Europe in the fall of 2021.

Drawing influence from The Cure and Depeche Mode while forming an integral part of a burgeoning scene, Twin Tribes have played shows across the US in support of their debut album, and plan to bring their latest release to festivals and venues across the country and even further afield this year. As their second LP gains increasing critical and commercial attention, these pillars of the independent music scene continue to re-define what genres such as darkwave and post-punk mean in 2021.

WINGTIPS
[Synthpop / Darkwave – USA]

Le duo électro pop WINGTIPS, basé à Chicago, se compose de Vincent Segretario & Hannah Avalon, et a été officiellement formé en 2015 par Vincent après avoir officieusement utilisé le surnom pour un certain nombre de performances solo expérimentales.

Leur premier album, “EXPOSURE THERAPY”, est sorti en 2019 sur le label alternatif canadien Artoffact Records, et est décrit comme un son androgyne de transition. Interpolant des couches sombrement chatoyantes de guitare angulaire et de darkwave pulsante, WINGTIPS aiguise sa ruée anthemique avec un penchant croissant pour la mélodie et une atmosphère tout aussi influencée par le post-punk que par l’electronica balayante. “EXPOSURE THERAPY” est une contextualisation du nouveau romantisme pour la fin des temps post-millénaires, et un mélange rafraîchissant de synthpop et de darkwave avec des accroches si convaincantes qu’elles ont une portée cinématographique.

Fin 2020, le duo a laissé entrevoir un changement de style vers un son pop plus grandiloquent avec leur reprise du single “TEARS OF PEARLS” de Savage Garden. Le titre a été acclamé par la presse et a été salué par Darren Hayes, le chanteur de Savage Garden lui-même. WINGTIPS a sorti son deuxième album, “CUTTING ROOM FLOOR”, le 3 septembre 2021.
